Mafia Secrets
Truck stylin’ and profilin’

By Bryan Martin, contributing writer

In this day and age there are a lot of cool trends and styles that look equally appealing and cool. Style preference is like an opinion: Everybody has a viewpoint of their own. Sort of like the fashion world, many styles of yesteryear are becoming popular once again. Of course the wild, exotic look will always be a winner in many circles. But other drivers may prefer the vintage/retro theme. And a bunch of other styles are eye-catching in their own way. Take a few fun minutes to look at a few of these photos!

Retro

Retro

Don’t think it’s just the “Old Timers” that dig this style. Drivers of all ages often identify with this look.

Exotic

Exotic

Ultramodern paint schemes and wicked sheet metal work with tricky accents are the perfect recipe for the wild and exotic style.

Minimalistic

Minimalistic

Perfect example of how "less can say more." Lean and mean, these trucks command attention everywhere they go.

Lotta paint – li'l chrome

Lotta paint - lil'l chrome

A unique look of heavy use of a single color, with much of the bright work getting painted to match the body color. Controversial to some drivers, but a trendy and smooth style that makes folks wanna walk over and take a closer look.

Themed

Themed

Fans who have hobbies, devotion and ties to different brands, teams, occupations and lifestyles like to do it up right to show off their true colors with these rigs. It's not uncommon to see John Deere, Harley Davidson, fire truck, hunting-themed makeovers and much more at today's truck shows.

Traditional

Traditional

This is the look we have all enjoyed for decades: flashy multicolor paint, heavy use of chrome and accessories throughout the truck – with a custom bumper, visor, exhaust pipes and fenders to ice the cake. A nice amount of lights and stainless to round out the rig bumper-to-bumper will be standard issue on this timeless style that is sure to dazzle mainstream America.

Hot Rod

Hot rod

Long, lean, streamlined and full of attitude. This style strikes a nerve in all who see it when done properly. A winning combination of wheelbase, stance, colors and just the right accessories will always be a good formula for the hot rod build.

Rat Rod

Rat rod

Although not gaining in popularity as fast as other build styles, the rat rod look is a wide open canvas that can be just about any year model, any make. And your accessories can come from the salvage yard, swap meet, antique mall or any other place where secondhand merchandise is traded. One of the appeals about the rat rod is you can often dress a truck up and stay under budget as compared with other styles.

Obviously, some styles are not covered in today’s lesson, but these are some of the popular and trendy ones. Hope you enjoyed the pics.

So, stay warm, keep rolling and tune in next month for another exciting episode of Mafia Secrets.LL
