The Illinois Department of Transportation wants to hear from the public about three road improvement projects, including a formal public hearing related to a congestion relief project on Illinois Route 5 in Moline.
The first meeting is a public awareness open house for the proposed improvement of Illinois Route 173 from Smythe Road to Alpine Road. The open house is scheduled for 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday, July 29, Machesney Park Village Hall, 300 Machesney Park Road, Machesney Park, IL 61115.
Next is a formal public hearing concerning the environmental assessment of Illinois Route 5 from 16th Street to 60th Street in Moline. The purpose of the hearing is to identify improvements including congestion relief on the roadway while accommodating existing and proposed land uses. The hearing is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 4, at the Moline Public Library, 3210 41st Street, Moline, IL 61265.
Third is an ILDOT public awareness open house for the proposed reconstruction of Illinois Route 2 from West Riverside Boulevard to Auburn Street in Rockford. The hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 5, at Elger Lab, 605 Fulton Ave., Rockford IL 61103.
