Trial date set in fatal Avon Mountain dump truck crash

A March 3 trial has been set for the owner of a dump truck that crashed into traffic on Avon Mountain in Connecticut in the summer of 2005, killing four people and injuring many more.

Trucking company owner David Wilcox faces insurance fraud charges for allegedly trying to insure his company’s truck after it was already involved in the fiery crash.

He’s also expected to face manslaughter charges in a separate trial, which hasn’t been scheduled.
