Indiana has been added to the list of Midwestern states that are getting federal money to study the idea of truck-only lanes on Interstate 70.
According to the Indianapolis Star, the U.S. Department of Transportation is giving $3 million to four states – Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio – to do the studies.
Officials in each state will study adding two truck-only lanes in each direction on I-70, the Star reported.
The lanes would be built specifically for trucks and designed to carry heavier loads than normal lanes.
