With the sale of Chrysler, the company that used to be called DaimlerChrysler is just plain Daimler again.

Now, company officials have announced that what used to be Freightliner LLC will become Daimler Trucks North America beginning Jan. 7, 2008.

The company’s name change won’t change the nameplates on the trucks themselves – they’ll still read Freightliner, Sterling and Western Star.
