New Jersey trucker needed interpreter during trial

A former New Jersey trucker used an interpreter in court last week to say he was sorry about a double fatality accident he was involved in, but that it wasn't his fault.

According to the Express Times, a Pennsylvania judge sentenced Carlos Aguirre-Giraldo of Elizabeth, NJ, to two to four years in prison on manslaughter and reckless endangerment convictions.

Aguirre-Giraldo claimed a car cut him off and forced him to cross a median on Interstate 78 near Allentown, PA, on Dec. 27, 2005.

His truck overturned and crushed an oncoming car, killing an Iraqi war veteran and his young bride.
