Connecticut eyes more truck parking

Truckers in Connecticut could see an increase in parking places at highway rest stops if an ambitious proposal by the state’s DOT gets adopted.

According to the Stamford Advocate, the department is proposing to rebuild every state highway service plaza and rest area in the state, and create more truck parking.

A two-year study by the state DOT found that about 1,200 trucks are unable to finding parking in Connecticut each night, and that the number will grow to more than 1,700 by 2025.
