Texas bus company owner given probation

The owner of a Texas company whose bus caught on fire resulting in the deaths of 23 people during a Hurricane Rita evacuation has received five years of probation.

According to The Associated Press, Global Limo owner James Maples could have received up to two years in jail, but was given probation instead.

Maples was convicted of poorly managing his fleet, but was acquitted on the more serious charge of falsifying driver's logbooks.
