Wrecks could prompt fines in Manitoba

The Canadian province of Manitoba may start holding truckers financially accountable for any damage they do to guardrails, bridges and other highway infrastructure.

Truck News reports that a bill has been proposed, which would impose fines of up to $5,000.

Manitoba’s transport minister however, hopes an expanded driver education program and routing maps that show clearances and weight limits will reduce the need for fines.
