Highway officials in Saskatchewan, Canada, plan to use a little-known, environmentally friendly repaving process on its roadways.
According to media reports, about 39,000 used tires will be shredded up and used in rubber asphalt on 18 miles of Highways 1 and 11.
A highway official told Truck News that rubber asphalt not only lasts longer and makes use of recycled material, but also reduces traffic noise.
