Arrests made in California insurance scam

California police have made four arrests in an alleged insurance scam that involved faking car wrecks and then filing false insurance claims.

According to The San Jose Mercury-News, the four suspects staged more than 100 collisions in California’s Bay area, resulting in more than $2 million in losses to insurers.

According to investigators, the suspects would recruit people who had policies covering bodily injury damages.

They would then stage an accident and get a chiropractor to submit bogus medical bills.
