Truck industry analysts at the investment company Bear Stearns say the Class 8 pre-buy this year has been seriously underestimated.

According to Today’s Trucking, the analysts say the 2006 sales boom has now ended, and that carriers surveyed said they bought this year and won’t be buying ’07 models.

Bear Stearns is cautioning investors that heavy-duty truck manufacturers could have a very lean year in ’07.
