Arrest made in Ontario trucker's death

A 49-year-old Montreal, Canada, man was arrested Friday in connection with the killing of a Brockville, Ontario, trucker whose refrigerated load of chicken was stolen after he was shot.

The Toronto Globe & Mail reported that Paul Cyr was arrested Friday in Brampton, Ontario. He is charged with murder, forcible confinement and using a firearm to commit a theft of more than $5,000 in value.

The victim, 35-year-old Donald Woods of Athens, Ontario, was found shot to death in the cab of his truck in a parking lot June 23 in Pickering, Ontario.

Durham Region police believe Cyr sold the stolen cargo in Toronto. The chicken was valued at $40,000.

The Toronto Star reported that Woods had been driving a shorter route to be closer to his family, and had been doing that for about three weeks prior to his death.
