Canadian man sues UPS over alleged 'brokerage fee'

A man in British Columbia, Canada, is suing UPS after suffering sticker shock when a telephone he ordered from Arizona was delivered to his door.

Robert Macfarlane told local media he "can't believe that UPS charged him

$38.40 as a 'brokerage fee.' "

Macfarlane's lawyer said the fee is "outrageous," because no one knows about the existence of the brokerage fee until it's too late, and claims the same package delivered by the Canadian Postal Service would have cost about $5.
