Truckers in Colorado were hanging iron Thursday, Oct. 26.
Up to 18-inches of snow fell in the mountains, and high winds created near white-out conditions at times. A 125-mile stretch from Colorado Springs to the New Mexico border was under a blizzard warning at midday.
In Colorado Springs, visibility was described as only two to three feet when a semi jackknifed on Interstate 25, blocking part of the highway.
At noon Thursday the Colorado Department of Transportation was reporting westbound I-70 closed at Georgetown because of a rock slide and eastbound I-70 closed near Golden because of accidents and icy conditions.
U.S Highway 6 over Loveland Pass was also closed.
