Faulty brakes blamed for death of Kentucky trucker

A young man in southeastern Kentucky who was driving trucks at a coal mine died in a wreck on the job while reportedly driving a truck that had faulty wheel brakes and a faulty engine brake, according to a report by federal investigators.

According to The Associated Press, the report states that 23-year-old Steven Bryant was told to drive an 8,000-gallon water truck that he'd never driven before - and that he died when he lost control of the truck on a steep mountain grade and crashed.

The report also stated that the superintendent of the Miller Brother's Coal Mine was notified twice about the bad brakes prior to the accident.
