Marines celebrate 231st birthday

While Saturday, Nov. 11 - Veterans Day - is meant to honor all men and women who have served in the armed forces, there's another celebration this week for one specific branch of our military.

On Friday, Nov. 10, the U.S. Marine Corps marked its 231st birthday. The celebration commemorates the day in 1775 when the Continental Congress signed a resolution forming the Corps, which originally was conceived to serve as an infantry unit for the U.S. Navy.

Everyone at OOIDA and Land Line wishes our brave Marines a very happy 231st birthday.
