Vets asked to wear ribbons for Veterans Day

If you're a veteran, the head of the VA is asking you to wear your service ribbons or medals on Veterans Day.

According to The Associated Press, that's what veterans in Australia do - and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Jim Nicholson would like to start that tradition here.

Nicholson said wearing the ribbons would allow vets to express pride in their service, and might prompt more open conversations with family and friends about military service.
