The national average price for a gallon of diesel dropped 1.1 cents for the week ending Monday, Nov. 6, the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported.
Diesel fuel cost an average of $2.506 the week, down from the previous week's price of $2.517.
Out of the nine U.S. regions reporting, the Lower Atlantic region saw the biggest drop - 2.4 cents per gallon to $2.448 - from last week's price of $2.472.
The East Coast region saw a 2.2-cent decrease from $2.530 to $2.508, while the Central Atlantic region dropped 1.8 cents to $2.628 and New England dropped 1.6 cents to $2.613.
The Gulf Coast region had a price of $2.449 this week, down 1.3 cents from $2.462.
California reported an average price of $2.637, a decrease of 0.8 cents, while the West Coast region reported an average decrease of 0.4 cents to $2.606.
The Rocky Mountain region reported no change in its average diesel price for the week, closing Monday at $2.577.
