Truck parking ban lifted for neighborhoods in Fayetteville, NC

Officials in Fayetteville, NC, are temporarily changing their tune on banning big trucks from parking in residential neighborhoods.

Earlier this week, two council members in the city proposed a moratorium, which prevents truckers from being fined $100 for parking their trucks in front of their homes.

“Let’s get real,” Curtis Worthy, one of the council members who proposed the measure, told the Fayetteville Observer. “These people are trying to make a living.”

The moratorium was originally proposed as a removal of the zoning ordinance, but instead will be placed on hold while the city’s Department of Inspections studies other parking options, the Observer reported.
