FedEx drivers awarded $61 million

A San Francisco jury has awarded $61 million to two FedEx Ground drivers who claimed a manager used racial slurs against them for two years.

The drivers – who are of Lebanese descent – claimed that, among other things, the manager called them “terrorists.”

The two men were contract drivers who worked out of the Oakland, CA, FedEx Ground facility.

A FedEx spokesman says the jury award was “excessive” and that the company will appeal.
