For the past 20 years, the small Canadian town of
Organizers say the 21st Annual Fergus Truck Show next week is poised to break last year’s record of 54,000 attendees, which is more than five times the local population.
The show is scheduled for Friday, July 21, through Sunday, July 23, at the
“We are kind of like four shows in one,” Mardi Billings, administrative assistant for the show, told Land Line. “We have the truck pull, the music, the trade show and the show and shine.”
The 2005 show attracted 630 trucks to the show and shine, 241 trade show vendors displaying their products, and 183 competitors in the truck pull.
Musical entertainment for the weekend includes four bands Friday night, featuring The Wilkinsons.
Settlers Creek and Moonshine are on the bill Saturday and “Music in the Park,” featuring Beverley Mahood and Lace, is set for Sunday. Four bands will also play on Saturday afternoon.
Other event highlights include a tractor pull, a Saturday barbecue, Sunday church service and Sunday breakfast buffet.
Gates open to the general public at noon Friday. Pull competitors and show truck contestants can begin registering Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
Admission for adults is $20 for a one-day pass and $45 for a weekend pass. Senior admission is $10 per day or $25 for the weekend.
