The Salina Journal reported that the truck held nearly 297 gallons of fuel and left the truck stop between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Monday.
Wayne Kieffaber, general manager of the Flying J, told “Land Line Now” that the truckers – a man and a woman – said they wanted to pay in cash. A Flying J employee went out to the truck and took down the DOT number, truck number and base plate numbers before activating the pump.
However, the police said the DOT number doesn’t match anything in their computer and the other numbers are still being checked.
Police said the truck is a maroon tractor pulling a trailer of unknown color. Anyone with any information should call the Salina Police Department at (785) 826-7210.
