Diesel prices on the rise again

The national average price of diesel rose 1.6 cents for the week ending Feb. 27, according to the Energy Information Administration.

The national average rose to $2.471 per gallon for the week, after two weeks of falling prices.

The West Coast saw the biggest increase, jumping 2.9 cents to $2.623 per gallon. California, though, still had the highest prices, coming in at an average of $2.688 per gallon.

The lowest average was found in the Midwest, at $2.417 per gallon, though even that was 1.9-cents higher than the previous week.

The Gulf Coast and Rocky Mountain regions each saw increases of more than a penny, rising to $2.443 and $2.509 per gallon, respectively.

The Lower Atlantic region post an increase of less than a penny, coming in at an average of $2.441 per gallon, The Central Atlantic and New England regions were significantly higher, each at $2.593 per gallon.

The East Coast as a whole, meanwhile, posted an average of $2.493 per gallon, up less than a penny from the previous week.
