The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says the nation is ahead of schedule on the conversion to ultra-low sulfur diesel.

According to an agency press release, a survey shows that about 85 percent of the diesel being sold meets ULSD standards - even though the regulatory requirement was only 80 percent.

By the year 2010, all diesel fuel is supposed to be ULSD.
