Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has vetoed a city council vote that would've thrown out a contract that the deputy mayor had signed with Ambassador Bridge owner Matty Moroun.
According to the Windsor Star , Kilpatrick wants to give Moroun control of the riverfront property on the U.S. side of the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel – in exchange for $30 million.
However, the city council could overturn the mayor's veto if 6 of its 9 members agree to it, the Star reported.
