Trucker loses bid for U.S. Congress
Tennessee trucker Norma Cartwright, who was running for U.S. Congress in the state's Fourth District, failed to win her primary election bid Thursday.

Cartwright, a Democrat from Beechgrove, TN, came in second in a three-way race that included incumbent Congressman Lincoln Davis, D-Pall Mall.

The outcome was lopsided. Davis out-polled Cartwright by nearly eight to one.

But Cartwright, who was interviewed on “Land Line Now” on XM Satellite Radio last week, said running for office this year was largely a learning experience, and that she's already set her sights on running again in 2008.
