Surprise inspection sidelines trucks in Washington

A dozen trucks were sidelined earlier this week in Washington after a surprise inspection turned up violations in 89 trucks.

On Wednesday, Nov. 2, 20 officers from the Gray’s Harbor Sheriff’s Office, the Washington State Patrol and the Aberdeen, McCleary, Cosmopolis and Montesano police departments set up an inspection point on Highway 12 between Montesano and Brady, the Aberdeen Daily World reported.

The inspection blitz was part of a cross-department inspection class, which the officers had recently completed.

The 20-officer inspection class, which was funded by a $25,000 grant from the Washington Traffic Safety Commission, inspected 119 trucks, according to the Daily World.
