The price of diesel continued to inch downward Wednesday, Nov. 2, with some stations’ prices dipping below the $2.40 per gallon mark.

ProMiles reported a national average of $2.829 per gallon, down 3.4 cents from the previous day.

The lowest average was $2.60 per gallon in Oklahoma , while the highest was $3.159 per gallon in Idaho .

Meanwhile, AAA reported a national average of $3.032 Nov. 2, down almost 2 cents from the previous day. AAA also reported a lowest average of $2.729 per gallon in New Jersey , while the highest was $3.33 per gallon in Illinois .

Flying J was still reporting low supplies at stations in Arkansas , Missouri and Mississippi . The chain’s lowest prices were found at a stop in Troutdale , OR , at $2.359.

Travel Centers of America was down to selling red-dyed diesel at only one location in Brunswick , GA , and had a low of $2.419 per gallon at its location in Troutdale , OR .

On the other side of the country, Petro’s lowest reported price was $2.439 per gallon at its stop in Knoxville , TN.

Pilot reported a low of $2.419 at several locations, including Oak Grove , KY , Knoxville , TN , and Oklahoma City .
