Jonathan Wilcox, 19, turned himself in to the Windsor, CT, police Oct. 13 following a car vandalism spree in early August.
If the name Wilcox sounds familiar, it’s because he is the son of David Wilcox, the owner of American Crushing & Recycling, the Bloomfield-based company that has seen a host of troubles spawning from a July 29 truck wreck that killed four people.
According to the Hartford Courant, Jonathan Wilcox was charged with nine counts of criminal mischief, nine counts of second-degree conspiracy to commit criminal mischief, 17 counts of tampering with a motor vehicle and 17 counts of conspiracy to tamper with a motor vehicle.
Police said that Wilcox and two boys under 16 vandalized 27 cars parked in driveways and on private streets on two nights in early August.
The cars had their tires slashed, and eggs, ketchup and cheese were strewn on some of them. Wilcox was freed on $10,000 bail.
The elder Wilcox, meanwhile, is due in court Oct. 17 in charges related to the July crash.
