Pennsylvania trucker crushed to death by load in accident

A Pennsylvania trucker died last week when the load he was hauling came through the rear of the truck’s cab and crushed him, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

Kuldip Aulakh, a Land Line reader, was traveling north on Interstate 81 in Guilford Township around 6:50 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7. According to media reports, Aulakh failed to make a bend at the Exit 14 off-ramp and drove his 1999 Freightliner off the road.

Police said the truck then crossed a grassy median and went up an embankment on the exit ramp. The load on the truck’s trailer came forward and crushed him.

Pennsylvania Trooper Stanley Majocko told Land Line that conclusive evidence had not yet been released, but that Aulakh was most likely wearing his seat belt when the load crushed him.

Majocko said the wreck’s cause is still under investigation, and would not be concluded until information from the truck’s electronic data recorder had been returned and analyzed.
