Police believe a driver in West Virginia did not properly set his parking brake, which lead to his truck rolling backward, pinning him underneath and killing him.

OOIDA member David Meredith, 32, of Bethel, PA, died sometime in the middle of the afternoon Monday, Oct. 3, at the Beckley Travel Plaza on Interstate 77 near Beckley, WV.

A travel plaza employee told The Associated Press he witnessed Meredith pulling into the lot at approximately 3 p.m. His body was not discovered until about 4:15 p.m.

A representative for the West Virginia State Police in Beckley told Land Line that the case had been ruled an accident, and foul play was not suspected.
