The California Department of Motor Vehicles has reinstated the Employer Training Program certification of C.R. England’s Mira Loma , CA , testing facility.

The C.R. England facility had its certification revoked Oct. 3, because of deficiencies noted during an annual inspection conducted by the state’s DMV Sept. 1.

“Effective Nov. 23, 2005, C.R. England was given the authorization by the ( California ) DMV to retest only the drivers affected by the inspection conducted in 2005,” a DMV spokesman said.

This includes drivers certified by C.R. England between Nov. 19, 2003, and Aug. 31, 2005, according to the spokesman.

The California DMV spokesman said about 1,300 truckers’ CDLs were impacted by the revocation. Those drivers will be eligible for retesting by C.R. England.

“The determination (for reinstatement) was only made after their examiners had been retrained and their route had been approved by the department,” the spokesman said.

As a condition of reinstatement, C.R. England’s examiners had to be retrained. C.R. England was notified of that condition following the Sept. 1 inspection. The examiners were enrolled in and completed the first available classes – Oct. 3-4, according to the spokesman.

As of press time, calls to C.R. England’s general counsel were not returned.
