DOT sets up Hurricane Relief Fraud Hotline
The Department of Transportation Office of Inspector General has established a hot line to aid with hurricane relief fraud.
Information on the hot line encourages anyone with knowledge of fraud, waste, abuse or allegations of mismanagement involving hurricane relief operations to call. Reports are being accepted on any of the recent hurricanes – not just Katrina as hot line’s e-mail address may suggest.
People with information about potential fraud can report it several ways:
