Is your truck lacking that little extra pizzazz? Not quite ready to promenade with your Pete? Do you not quite have the looks and appeal to just sail through the scales?

You might be just the person to take part in Castrol Tection's Extra Big Honkin' Truck Makeover. In the contest, one grand prize winner will receive an internal, external and communication makeover valued at $50,000.

Anyone with a rig weighing more than 10,000 pounds (Class 3-8) can take part.

First prize is a trip for two to the 2005 ACDelco National Hot Rod Association Nationals, valued at $1,000. The NHRA event is in Las Vegas. Second prize is a portable DVD player and a selection of DVDs, valued at $500.

Interested? You can register online at www.castrol.com/us. Your entry must include a photo of your rig and an essay. Keep it short, because you only have 50 words or less to describe why you deserve to be the big winner of the makeover.

Online entries are due and mail submissions must be postmarked by July 15.

A panel of judges will determine the three finalists. Judging will be based on the following criteria: 50 percent originality and creativity; 25 percent relevance of essay to theme; and 25 percent photographic appeal.

Photographs of the three finalists will be posted at the Castrol Tection Extra booth at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, Aug. 25 and 26, and the winners will be announced Aug. 27, the final day of the show.
