North American Van Lines’ blanket wrap division has been sold to Gainey Transportation Services of Grand Rapids, MI, a privately held company.
The North American Van Lines’ unit, located in Fort Wayne, IN, hauled about 15,000 loads last year using 180 independent contractors and more than 500 trailers.
“We’re excited about the acquisition and the possibilities this move holds for the future,” stated Gainey North Central Regional Manager George Brooks. “GTS is quite impressed with the workers and the operation, and we have definite growth plans for this business headquartered in Fort Wayne.”
Approximately 28 employees are directly tied to the blanket wrap operation. Both employees and the number of independent contractors could increase over time as new opportunities are identified, according to Brooks.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. North American Van Lines is owned by SIRVA, Inc.
