New York cab markings: both sides now

Effective July 5, the New York State Department of Transportation wants motor carriers operating vehicles weighing more than 18,000 pounds – that’s gross weight intrastate – to show a U.S. DOT number and name of the carrier on both sides of the cab.

According the Bob Pitcher’s State Laws Newsletter, the requirement will extend to intrastate vehicles over 10,000 pounds beginning July 5 next year. For more information, see www.dot.state.ny.us.
