Forget about all the hassles and headaches that go along with the business of driving down the road. New truck stops in two states are going to make it easier when you decide to stop.

In Kenly, NC, Flying J is planning to open a new 17-acre travel plaza on Interstate 95 near Exit 106. The stop will join an already burgeoning truck stop economy in the area, which includes two other stops at exits 105 and 106.

Petro Shopping Centers will also be opening its 63rd truck stop. It will be near Remington, IN. The stop was previously operated as Hoosier Heartland Truck Plaza, but underwent extensive renovation after being purchased by Petro, including an Iron Skillet restaurant, Petro:Lube truck service center and travel store.

The location also offers eight fueling lanes and overnight parking for 150 trucks. The interior décor has been updated throughout and the truck service bays, driver shower area, movie theater and game room have all been expanded.

North Carolina currently ranks 19th in overall truck parking in the United States, according to a 2002 study by the Federal Highway Administration.
