Texas renames two highways for President Reagan

Effective Sept. 1, two stretches of highway in Texas will become “Ronald Reagan Memorial Highways” in accordance with laws signed Friday, July 22, by Gov. Rick Perry.

In the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Interstate 20 from the west Dallas County line through Tarrant County to Parker County will be renamed. In Houston, U.S. Highway 290 in Harris County between the Waller County line and Beltway 8 will be renamed.

The governor said renaming the roads for President Reagan is appropriate because his “optimistic leadership” helped the nation regain its pride.
