Traffic in Pennsylvania is running smoothly today after authorities re-opened a portion of Interstate 70 just one day after a partial collapse of an overpass.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation continues to investigate the collapse of 120 tons of concrete and steel from the Lakeview Drive overpass, 15 miles south of Pittsburg near the Interstate 79 junction.

Some of that debris fell into the eastbound lanes. One woman was injured when her van struck some of the debris.

PennDOT had closed lanes in both directions and created a three-mile detour between Exits 21 and 24, but all lanes have been reopened, a spokesman told “Land Line Now.”

The spokesman said traffic returned to westbound lanes Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 28, and eastbound lanes reopened about 10 p.m.
