Boston to start printing waterproof parking tickets

Possibly in fear of more leaks from the Big Dig, parking enforcement officers in Boston will soon start giving out waterproof citations.

According to The Boston Globe, the officers will be getting $2,500 computers that print out tickets on waterproof paper. This, the city believes, will put an end to illegible citations and minimize the potential for human error.

The book-sized computers should be in full use for all tickets by the end of August.

The Globe reported that Boston has collected more than $62 million in parking fines during the past year, handing out about 1.5 million citations.
