Canadian truckers threaten strike over fuel costs

Truckers in British Columbia are threatening to bring that Canadian province to a screeching halt if the Canadian government does not do something to stem the rising costs of diesel.

More than 300 unionized and non-unionized truckers met in Vancouver on Sunday, April 24, to express their outrage about increasing fuel costs. The truckers suggested several possible solutions, including tax rebates, tax refunds or a boycott of oil companies until they bring prices down.

Another meeting is set for May 1 in Surrey, British Columbia, where truckers expect to formulate a plan of action.
