Canadian truckers sought for HOS discussion

Transport Canada is seeking comment from Canadian truck drivers in an effort to obtain input about amending the country’s hours-of-service.

The Canadian Council of Motor Transportation Administrators, a non-profit organization of representatives of the provincial, territorial and federal governments of Canada, will head the research effort to elicit the opinions of owner-operators, public carriers, private carriers as well as unionized drivers.

Input will be gathered by round-table discussions facilitated by a third-party market research moderator.

The dates and locations of the sessions are:

  • Nov. 1 in Calgary and Mississauga
  • Nov. 3 in Moncton and Winnipeg
  • Nov. 4 in Montreal

Each session has been scheduled to last about two hours and participants will receive a cash honorarium of $150 for their time and assistance.

Anyone interested in additional information should contact Alan Brown or Anthony Connors with Qualitative Coordination from Monday-Thursday, 1:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. (MDT) at (403) 541-9816. The anonymity of participants is maintained.
