An appeals court has upheld the findings of a lower court in a case involving two popular Internet load boards, Getloaded.com and Internet Truckstop, according to court documents.
A lower court had fined Getloaded.com $510,000; the company had asked The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit in Idaho to overturn the lower court fines, but the court upheld the lower court’s decision.
The original suit involved allegations from one of Getloaded’s competing Internet load, truck, route and bid posting services – the Internet Truckstop.
Internet Truckstop claimed that one of its former employees had inappropriately provided Getloaded.com with information and customer data acquired from the Internet Truckstop Web site.
The Internet Truckstop gathers information from the trucking industry – truckers, trucking companies, brokers, shippers, freight forwarders, logistical companies and others – and makes that information available on the Internet. Databases of available trucks, loads, routes and bids are maintained and updated throughout the day.
