The price of crude oil on the New York Mercantile Exchange dropped to just above $47.37 at the close of trading Tuesday, Nov. 9.
The per barrel price had soared above $50 for a month before dropping back below the half century mark Nov. 2.
However, the decline may or may not help truckers suffering from the high price of diesel. The Energy Department, quoted by The Associated Press, said the price of home heating oil – which is similar to diesel – is still likely to increase.
