Delphi introduces new XM receiver

Delphi Corp and XM Satellite Radio recently announced the introduction of a new Delphi XM plug-and-play satellite radio receiver.

The new receiver, "Roady2," premiered at the 2004 Home Entertainment Show in New York May 22 and 23.

The company says the new receiver is smaller than other plug-and-play models. It also has a built-in wireless FM adapter that is designed to ease connection to car or home radios. In addition to XM programming, Roady2 can display up to 20 customized stock quotes.

Roady2 arrives at retailers in July.

XM satellite radio offer more than 120 digital radio channels, including 68 channels of commercial-free music, as well as news, sports, talk, comedy and other entertainment programming from coast to coast. Subscribers pay $9.99 a month for the XM service.

In addition to existing accessories, new home kits and portable audio systems for Roady products will be available at retailers nationwide this summer.

Delphi also manufactures the Delphi XM SkyFi receiver and the new Delphi CD Audio System, which offers XM Satellite Radio along with a CD/CDR/MP3 player and AM/FM tuner.

Roady costs less than $120; the SkyFi systems runs roughly $170.
