The average U.S. retail price of diesel fuel rose to $1.641 from the previous high of $1.617, the Department of Energy reported March 15.
The highest prices were in California, at $1.854; New England, at $1.760; the Central Atlantic region, at $1.736; and on the West Coast, where the average price is $1.795.
Other prices included the Lower Atlantic region, where the average price is $1.593; the Midwest, at $1.615; the Gulf Coast, at $1.587; the East Coast, at $1.643; and the Rocky Mountain region, where the price is $1.670.
