Holding it – and holding onto the bottle you use for it – could save you some money and possibly even jail time if a bill passes the Wyoming Legislature.
Proposed by Sen. Bill Vasey, D-Albany, Senate File 55 targets drivers who urinate in bottles and then toss them alongside the highways.
The bill would increase the penalty for littering if the litter involves disposal of body fluids. The penalty for pee-bottle tossing could include up to nine months in prison, up to a $1,000 fine, or both. A provision allows for a suspended sentence with the violator spending up to 40 hours cleaning litter from public roads, parks or other public areas.
SF55 passed the Senate Feb. 25, and has received a “do pass” recommendation from the House Transportation and Highways Committee. The bill is currently being considered by the full House.
