Be vewy, vewy quiet .

Usually, when folks dress up in camouflage, it’s with a rifle to hunt deer, or maybe wabbits … er, rabbits.

But in western Pennsylvania, camouflage-covered State Police have been using radar guns to hunt speeders, media outlets reported.

The obscured officers started their work in response to a January accident on Interstate 80, which involved 44 vehicles and six deaths. Troopers who had their own camouflage were recruited for the mission. An OOIDA member told Land Line there have been a number of similar accidents along that stretch in recent years.

The speed traps, reported in Indiana County, PA, east of the Pittsburgh metro area, include squad cars down the road that stop the alleged speeders after the hidden officer clocks their speed.

State police spokesmen told local media outlets the camouflaged cops have already been effective catching a number of speeders.
