Con-Way, an Ann Arbor, MI-based less-than-truckload carrier, will offer truckload services by next year, the company announced recently.
The company, which currently employs more than 18,000, will add 450 workers.
Con-Way Truckload will provide transcontinental service, as well as providing truckload services to several of the company’s LTL subsidiaries. Con-Way will spend $200 million this year to purchase truckload services.
While most of the drivers will be company employees, Douglas W. Stotlar, executive vice president and chief operating officer, said, “with contract drivers utilized as needed.”
